Here we go again…

Beginning this blog last year was a great focus point; it allowed me to consider my teaching practice and became a way to collate new ideas. Where do you go from there?

Embracing International Day and the Age-old tradition of storytelling – Rakugo style

The first term has come and gone in a blast with numerous events and initiatives flying by. Each of which can be summed up by their impact positive impact and the ways they could improve next time.

Fine tuning…

And I guess that’s where the answer lies – where can we see the patterns from year to year, term to term and how can I fine tune my practice moving forward. How can I make the classroom the best place I can for my students?

Exploring the circulatory system through PE and dissecting a pig’s heart. Active and informative.

Striving to find new ideas…

The discoveries of my last two years including the impact of Seesaw and many other digital opportunities have been enormous in transforming my classroom. Beyond that, introducing a Mastery approach has challenged how I plan learning experiences for all students.

Treasure what has gone before…

However there needs to be recognition for all that has gone before. What has worked for me before that has slipped from the foreground? How can I use past successes to merge both the new and the old?

Challenge of flexibility vs. routine…

Today I was able to run an effective feedback session using exit questions and peer to peer feedback with Google Classroom and good old exercise books! The students were as focused and engaged…during feedback! It got me thinking that as much as I want to expose them to new technological experiences, the balance between both is essential and I will make it my challenge to consider both as the year goes on.
